GeorgUK, the UK arm of one of Germany’s leading engineering companies, operate modern facilities and a clean & tidy environment, but because the factory handles a range of machinery including upgrades of old coil processing lines as well as building new machines and Test Rigs, the facilities need regular maintenance.
New LED lighting has been installed throughout the Wolverhampton factory to provide ‘day light’ lighting. This bright light, which provides a similar level of lighting to natural light, is essential during the winter months when it gets dark from mid-afternoon. The walls and ceilings of the factory have also been repainted to provide a fresher environment.
In addition, two new overhead cranes have been installed which replace older versions. The new Street cranes are used to move the heavy Georg machines around the factory floor and benefit from soft start remote control functions providing smoother control of the cranes.
Neil Wyke, managing director, at GeorgUK said: “The whole Heinrich Georg Group works to high standards and customers are often surprised when they visit our UK site. Whilst there are areas where we are breaking down machines, on the whole we try to operate modern, clean conditions in which we custom build our Test Rigs and process lines or build electronic control panels.”
