Compliance with mandatory regulatory standards remains a critical part of machinery design and supply. At Georg UK, we recognise our customers require machines certified to UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) or CE (Conformité Européene) Marking.
What is UKCA Marking
Both UKCA and CE Marking indicates a product meets essential safety, health and environmental requirements defined by legislation.
UKCA mark – used for goods placed on the market in Great Britain
CE Marking – used on products sold in the European Economic Area (EEA)
UKCA marking was introduced as the UK’s domestic conformity marking, but the government continues to recognise CE marking for many categories.
Machinery is one of the product categories covered by both marking regimes. It means manufacturers must demonstrate that equipment meets applicable safety requirements before it can be supplied.
Georg UK’s approach
Simon Jones, Technical Director at Georg UK, explains:
“We work closely with customers during specification and procurement to ensure compliance frameworks are identified. We design and manufacture machinery with compliance and safety built into the process from the early design phase.”
Georg UK’s approach includes designing machinery to meet relevant safety directives and standards, preparing technical documentation, undertaking risk assessments, and providing declarations of conformity. By maintaining compliance with recognised standards, Georg UK ensures its machines are commissioning-ready for the UK and Europe.
By manufacturing machines that meet either UKCA or CE Marking requirements, Georg UK helps customers invest in equipment that meets regulatory obligations while maintaining the highest engineering standards.
