Black Country Day

Heinrich Georg (UK) Limited has always been based in the Black Country and as we celebrate Black Country Day on 14th July, we look back at our history.

Our origins

The company was established in 1987, originally located in St John’s Square in Wolverhampton as a UK sales office to support Heinrich Georg GmbH, a German engineering company specialising in coil processing lines.

Acquisition of Clifton Manufacturing Ltd and Carlton Contracts Ltd and a move to Springvale Industrial Park in Bilston, supported the UK’s growing design, engineering and manufacturing capabilities.

Growing our capabilities

In 2006 we moved to our current premises on the Dunstall Hill Estate in Wolverhampton which now includes three large units housing manufacturing and refurbishment workshops, an electronics workshop, testing facilities, paint facilities, a training room, and technical design and sales offices. The team has also grown and now employs 20 highly skilled employees.

Where we are today

From origins in manufacturing steel and aluminium process equipment, Georg UK has become one of the UK’s market leaders in custom-built, automated engineering solutions and manufacturers of industry-leading Dynamometers and Test Rigs, supplying aerospace, automotive, food, industrial assembly, material processing, and rail research.

Andrew Cheadle, Managing Director of Georg UK, said:

“We’re proud to be a manufacturer in the Black Country, in the heart of England’s industrial heritage. As the UK arm of the Georg Group continue to grow, we remain proud of our engineering roots, our knowledgeable team, and being part of the wider Heinrich Georg GmbH Group.”
